Duck Dynasty Star Suspended for Sharing Biblical View of Marriage

December 20, 2013 by John Potter

Phil

It is a sad day when a Christian is tormented and punished for expressing the truth of Scripture.

The A&E Network suspended Phil Robertson for comments he made regarding homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle that stands in opposition to God’s design. The GQ magazine interview quickly went viral and several groups began to call for his immediate dismissal from the television show.

When one takes the time to actually read Mr. Robertson’s comments, you see that they reflect a Biblical view of sexuality, marriage, and family.  Unfortunately, faith-based values are no longer commonplace.  It seems that faith-based values are not being taught outside of the Church and private schools.  While they have been the norm for thousands of years, a majority of people are seeking their own way.

This entire dust up should serve as a wake up call to all believers.  We must continue to share the message of Jesus Christ even when difficulties arise and Christians are being punished for sharing the truth of God’s Word. Remember that the pilgrims made their journey to the new world in order to find a place where they could escape religious persecution and enjoy their faith.

The A&E Network can suspend Phil for his comments, but let us strive to satisfy our Lord by being faithful disciples throughout any trials that come our way. Paychecks and hours may be lost, but there is a final reward greater than any television network can provide.
