I am an Army chaplain and Christian pastor who tries to follow Jesus. I write on military issues and matters of faith. Several military periodicals and Christian news outlets share my ramblings with the world. This spot provides a place where you can find the entire collection of my columns, musings, helpful military resources, and ministry writings.
My columns are often geared toward service members and military families. My goal is to strengthen people’s faith and provide encouragement during difficult times. Some common topics include Christian devotionals, stories of hope, surviving military deployments, life in the military, suicide prevention, and strengthening military marriages.
I have three deployments under my belt. My first deployment was 18 months for Operation Iraqi Freedom. My second deployment was 12 months in the Horn of Africa. I also had one stateside deployment with Joint Task Force Pelican for Hurricane Gustav relief efforts in Louisiana.
I am a minister with the Evangelical Friends Church. I became a pastor in 2002 and graduated from seminary in 2005.
I love a good glass of lemonade, Pepsi made with real sugar, reading, listening to bluegrass and jazz, walking the dog, spending time with my wife, and being a pastor to Soldiers.

God Bless you and those in your squad.
Thank you for your service to our country, our soldiers and our Lord. I am a retired Army chaplain with over 26 years service. I am considering a PhD and want to write about PTSD and faith. I am particularly interested in helping churches become helping communities and would be very interested in talking with you. Blessings, Harold Moore
